Aftermath Results (Saturday, March 10, 2012)

Well, if you were expecting Jaxson, I'm sorry to say, you don't get him today. It's me, Natalie Wilson. Jody's daughter, and I'll do my best to do as good of a job as Jaxson does at these results. If you're wondering where he is, he's got the flu. He showed up to Griffin anyway tonight, and as soon as Dad saw him, he turned him right around and set him home.

Truth be told, I'm not sure if it was Jaxson's benefit or because he didn't want any of the wrestlers to get sick in the process.

We were in an old Wal-Mart building, which has the biggest parking lot we've ever had. Granted, if we could have filled the parking lot, it would have been great, but even with that said, we had a good turn-out for Griffin. Couple of hundred, which is basically right at the number we had last month in McDonough, from what I understand, although truth be told, I liked McDonough a little better as far as area, but the crowd here in Griffin was a little better...lot more livelier.

We started the show with Nick King coming out to further prove that he is an asshole. It seems like this is his new gimmick, starting the show, getting the fans all riled up, saying something that he thinks is profound or edgy, wrestling his match, and then leaving, thinking everyone will then realize he's the most awesome thing since watermelon flavored chewing gum.

Tonight wasn't much different.

He came out.

I'm the best in the world.

Insulted the crowd.

Insulted Jaxson.

Blah, blah, blah.

Insulted Jaxson some more.

Insulted the crowd again.

Insulted two people in the crowd.

Something about herpes.

Said Matt Reynolds was scared of him.

I loved how he said he was in the building, when Matt is still recovering from the attack King did on him.

Then sat back and waited like Matt was going to actually come out.

King didn't have to wait for long, but it wasn't Matt who came out. It was Whirlwind, his actual opponent for the night. The guy that he seemed to have forgotten all about.

Whirlwind ran down to the ring, hopped up onto the apron, and then springboarded over the top rope. He was staring straight at King, who just shook his head like he could care less. John Empires, the referee, climbed into the ring and called for the match to begin.

I'd like to say that King got what he deserved, but unfortunately that just didn't happen, because Whirlwind went straight after him, but King immediately got the better of him, and dropped him into the Empire Lock, forcing him to tap out. All in all, the match lasted something like a minute and a half, but what happened after the match is what was interesting.

King apparently wanted to send a message, and he was going to use Whirlwind to do it. He let go of the crossface, and then picked Whirlwind up, throwing him out of the ring. He began to slam him over and over and over again into the steel ring post. Whirlwind was busted open after the third face first blast into the post.

And even then he still wasn't done. He picked up a chair. That's when Kit Kelsey, the newly crowned Peach State Champion, made a mad dash out to the ring. You could tell King wasn't expecting him, because he dropped the chair and backed away as Kit checked on Whirlwind, yelling at King. King held his hands up, a smirk on his face, as he walked away.

Kit wasn't originally scheduled to be here tonight, but he worked out all his visa issues, and flew back into town this morning. Despite what can only be some horrible jet lag, he wanted to be here tonight for the fans, so even though he wasn't wrestling, the champ...as they say, was here in the building, and he would later come back out to sign autographs during intermission.

Thankfully, King didn't come out to sign autographs at intermission, which is probably for the best, because he might have lost an eye after someone stabbed him with his Sharpie or something like that.

I know our main event is the tag championship match, but I honestly think I was more excited to see this match. I've always been a huge fan of Dixie's since she first stepped foot into Peach State, girl power and all that, and I'm tickled to death that she's back. And I must admit, outside of hearing Dad talk about him, I don't know much about Royal, but from everything that Dad has been saying about him, he was one of the better wrestler's to step foot in the ring.

Now, I say "was" because he hasn't wrestled in years. Unfortunately, wrestling isn't like riding a bike. I've been training off and on for a year now, so I know, every time I take a few weeks break between training, it's almost like starting over for me. He's been out of the ring for a few years, so it'll be interesting to see if he's everything Dad and the fans have in their mind.

"Here for the Party" by Gretchen Wilson kicks up, and out comes "The Southern Sweetheart" Dixie Leigh. See, Jaxson isn't the only one who can make-up nicknames. This Griffin crowd absolutely loves her as she makes her way to the ring.

Then "Walk" by Foo Fighters begins to play. When he came out to be the special guest referee at Breakaway, he used his old theme, but now, a new chapter in his career warrants new music, and he's going with "Walk" which is a great choice. Love the band. Love the song. The crowd goes nuts as "The People's Hero" Johnny Royal steps from the entrance.

I'm taken aback, before I remembered that Royal is from Atlanta, Georgia. Dixie maybe Southern, but Royal is the hometown guy. The crowd is on their feet as Royal makes his way to the ring. They are shouting "Welcome Back" and "Royal...Royal...Royal." It is one of the loudest receptions I've heard in Peach State Wrestling.

Dixie leans into the corner, looking around at the crowd as they chant Royal's name. Dixie nods her head, impressed at his entrance, as he climbed into the ring.

In case you're wondering who was doing the announcing, Empires is pulling double duty, announcing the wrestlers and then climbing into the ring to officiate. He's not doing a bad job, but I miss being at ringside.

Anyway, back to the match. The two of them eye each other, and then Royal extends his hand. Dixie has already stated that she doesn't know much about him, so she's not actually sure if she should accept his show of respect or back away as fast as she can. She looks around at the crowd, who is cheering her on, and realizes that she's going to trust the crowd. She shakes his hand, and then the two take a step back. The shake was legit, and Royal even wishes her luck. At this point, Dixie gets the feel that this is just going to be a contest to see who's better, and wishes him luck right back.

The two lock-up, and Royal gets the advantage with a headlock. He quickly maneuvers, and turns around, flipping her to the mat with an arm drag. Dixie rolls to her feet, and walks right back into another headlock from Royal. This time he twists, and takes her down with a headlock takedown, but as soon as their down, Dixie kicks out of the headlock, and twists, wrapping her legs around his head with a modified scissors lock. The crowd was impressed with her reversal of the move, as most people can't bend that way.

Royal kicks out, pulling out of her grip, and both get back to their feet. They both smile at each other, and slap hands, as the crowd claps in appreciation to the start of this match. They lock-up...nevermind, Dixie ducks under it, grabbing him by his waist, and dropping down into a school boy. She rolls him up and gets a quick two count before he kicks out.

That would have been a huge upset if she had pulled that off. Not saying that Dixie is an underdog in this match, but to beat him in this short amount of time would have been huge. Dixie gets back to her feet, as Royal rolls to his knee. Dixie rushes him, going for a quick knee strike, but Royal tucks and rolls, just missing the blow from her. He gets to his feet, and turns, connecting with a side kick as she tries to turn around. Dixie falls toward the ropes, catching herself on the top rope. Royal steadies himself, but as he does, Dixie shakes it off, leaps up, and springboards backwards with a crossbody, but Royal catches her in mid-air, turns, and powerslams her in the center of the ring, going for a pinfall.

He only gets two as she gets her shoulder off the ground. Royal gets back to his feet, pulling her to hers as well. He pushes her back into the ropes and goes to send her to the otherside, but in mid turn, she reverses it, sending him into the ropes. He rebounds off the ropes, and she connects with a big dropkick. Royal hits the mat, and Dixie covers, but only gets a one count, as Royal immediately kicks out.

Dixie gets back to her feet and rushes to the ropes, coming back as Royal just gets back to his feet. She leaps into the air, spinning around, and connecting with a huge spinning roundhouse kick. Royal's head is rocked to the side as he drops to the mat. Dixie turns him over onto his back, and then rushes to the ropes, leaping up onto the second one, and flipping over with an Asai moonsault, but as she comes down, Royal pulls his knees up, catching her as she comes down on top of him. Dixie hits the knees, and rolls off, landing on the mat, holding her gut from the impact.

Royal slowly gets back to his feet, and sees Dixie, who's in the prone position on her back in the ring. He rushes over to her, leaping into the air, and coming down with a giant leaping leg drop across her chest. Royal covers, but only gets a one count, as Dixie kicks out. Royal jumps up, and runs to the ropes, jumping up on to the second, and then springboards backwards, coming down on Dixie with an elbow. He once again covers, but only gets a two count.

Dixie rolls to her side, as Royal slowly gets back to his feet. He pulls her up, but as he does so, Dixie comes up with a European uppercut, catching Royal by surprise. Royal takes a step backwards, but answers with a chop. Dixie takes a step backwards, but comes straight at him with a chop of her own. Royal follows with his own European uppercut. Dixie is rocked and takes two steps backwards, into the ropes, but uses the momentum off of them to come back with a big left hand. Royal stumbles backwards several steps, and Dixie steps toward him, just as he leaps up into the air and delivers a perfect 5 star dropkick. Dixie drops to the mat hard and Royal falls backwards, neither of them moving.

Empires begins to do the ten count. He only needs to reach the count of four until Royal starts back to his feet. He pulls himself up using the ropes and looks over at Dixie who is still down. He walks over to her, and starts to lift her up, but as soon as he touches her, she turns and grabs him, pulling him down with a small package.

She almost pulled off another pinfall, but Royal manages to kick out of the hold at two. Royal gets back to his feet, but so does Dixie. Royal goes for a roundhouse kick to Dixie's head, but Dixie ducks it. Royal spins around, putting his back to Dixie. Dixie leaps up, grabbing wrapping her arm around Royal's neck, and dropping down with some kind of modified neckbreaker. Royal rolls to the side, holding his neck, as Dixie covers, getting a three count...BUT not before Royal's foot catches the bottom rope. Empires points and Dixie sighs, but doesn't argue.

She gets back to her feet, and lifts Royal up. She pushes him into the ropes, and starts to send him to the otherside, but in mid whip, He stops cold and turns, coming straight back at her with a short arm clothesline that sends both of them into and over the top rope. They both crash to the floor below hard.

Now Empires begins a different ten count as both of them struggle to get back to their feet. Royal is the first one up, and he makes a step toward the apron, but Dixie follows him, grabbing his shoulder and turning him around, nailing him with a right hand. Royal reals backwards, but answers back with a quick inside elbow that takes Dixie backwards. Royal then follows up with a big European uppercut that nearly puts Dixie into the second rope. Royal then turns and leaps up onto the apron. Royal stares straight at Empires holding his hands up at six, and then smiles, as he leaps off the apron backwards, crashing down on top of Dixie with a huge moonsault off the apron. Both superstars are down, as Empires's jaw drops for a second, but then continues the count.

DING, DING, DING!

Empires reached the ten count, and this one was over. I can't believe what Royal did. Rather than picking up the win via count-out, he wanted to continue the action. Maybe he'll explain himself as to why he did it before next month's show, Spring Fever, will be in Morrow, Georgia, just about 20 minutes up the road here. Regardless of how this match ended, I loved how the two superstars left it. With both of them on their feet on the outside of the ring, they ended the match the same way they began it...with a handshake.

Yes, I'm a sucker for respect in this business.

Intermission came and went, and Kit Kelsey had a big line for autographs. In just one match, he's become the guy everyone in Peach State wants to know about, while at the same time, seeing he's spent most of the month in his home country, he hasn't really been available for anything, but now that he's back, it should be very interesting what he has to say.

He will be back in action on the next card with his first title defense, and it is a doozy, as he'll defend it against one half of the tag champions, Blaine Harrison.

The main event started right after intermission was over. Imagine that, and out first came the challengers. The crowd welcomed August Joyce back with open arms as "OK, Time for Plan B" by Enter Shikari played. The crowd were some what less than accepting of his partner, Adrian Hunter, as "Face to the Floor" by Chevelle played. It's not that they didn't like him, it's just that they didn't know him that well. Hunter seemed to take the luke warm reaction in stride as he climbed into the ring. He seemed genuinely excited to be there, and him and Joyce started talking strategy immediately as they stood in the corner, waiting for their opponents.

And then "I'm Sexy and I Know It" by LFMAO began to play. The crowd immediately jumped to their feet as both Blaine Harrison and Mr. Krinkle, the Peach State Tag Team Champions, exploded through the entrance together. In such a short amount of time, they have become a dominant tag team, which is amazing seeing they were put together by chance, lethal lottery style. Krinkle was much more into the dancing than Blaine was.

Well, let me rephrase that. Blaine was dancing just fine. Krinkle was all over the place. It was a comedy of errors watching a 350lbs clown wiggle, wiggle, wiggle, wiggle. I honestly think I might have nightmares for the rest of my life from it. The crowd loved it though, as they were clutching their sides with laughter. Even Joyce and Hunter had to laugh at the clown coming to the ring to such an unusual song for the wrestling world.

The champs got into the ring, and Blaine immediately handed the belt to Empires, but Krinkle was reluctant to do so, but after some persuading from Blaine, Krinkle finally gave Empires the belt. Empires thanked him sarcastically, but then shook his head walking away. He showed them to Joyce and Hunter and then held the titles up for all to see, the universal signal that this match was for the championship.

The bell rang and the match started. Adrian started for him and Joyce, and Blaine and Krinkle used the seldom seen Rock, Paper, Scissors method to determine who would go first for them. Rock crushes Scissors, so that meant Blaine was up first.

Blaine and Adrian lock-up, and Blaine immediately gets a headlock, but Adrian reverses it into a armbar. Just as quickly, Blaine reverses it into an armbar of his own, but as soon as he locks it, Adrian drops down, and flips Blaine over with an arm drag take down, coming up with an armlock. He has it locked in, standing over Blaine, who is on the ground. Blaine shakes his head, as he makes his way to his feet, as Adrian holds onto the armlock. Blaine is able to semi-reverse it into a hammerlock, pushing Adrian back into the neutral corner, and Empires is there to make sure there's a clean break, and there is one, as Adrian lets go of the move, and Blaine quickly backs away.

The crowd claps at the example of pure wrestling that started this match. Adrian and Blaine smiled at the respect from the crowd, and then Blaine waves for Adrian to come at him again, and Adrian answers, as they lock-up again, this time, Adrian getting the advantage with a headlock, but Blaine reverses around behind Adrian, locking on a waistlock. He tries to lift him up for a takedown, but Adrian drops his center of gravity, and Blaine is forced to put him down on his feet, and Adrian immediately shifts his weight to pull out of the hold, and swing around to his own waistlock. He goes for his own takedown, but Blaine is able to do the exact same thing, and once again Blaine is behind Adrian. This time, he goes for a quick German suplex, but in mid-air, Adrian flips over behind Blaine, landing on his feet. Blaine quickly turns around, and once again the two wrestlers are standing facing each other, with the crowd on their feet cheering.

Blaine and Adrian smile at each other, both impressed with the other's athleticism. Then Blaine turns, hearing Krinkle yelling at him. Krinkle is jumping up and down on the ring apron, wanting to be tagged in. Blaine looks at Adrian and shrugs, and then walks over, tagging the clown in. Krinkle climbs into the ring, and Adrian, knowing this isn't going to be like facing Blaine, immediately goes on the attack, driving a knee into Krinkle, as he is still half way in and out of the ring. Krinkle nearly stumbles, falling into the ring, but somehow he maintains his balance. Adrian drives a double ax handle into his shoulder, but Krinkle grabs ahold of him, and shoves him backwards, allowing him to get all the way into the ring.

Adrian comes at him again, but Krinkle reaches out, and grabs Adrian by his face, and drops forward, slamming the back of his head into the mat with a move I've never actually seen done before, at least not with that grip. Krinkle rolls over and covers, but only got a one count as Adrian kicks out. Krinkle gets to his knees, like he's mildly shocked, as Adrian rolls away, holding his head. Krinkle gets up and walks over to Adrian, bending down and yanking him to his feet. He nails him with a huge chop which sends Adrian falling backwards into the corner. Krinkle nails him again with another chop, before sending him to the opposite side with an Irish whip. Adrian slams into the corner hard, and Krinkle revs up, before running as fast as he could (which isn't that fast actually), going for a corner splash, but at the last minute, Adrian leaps up, planting both feet into the incoming Krinkle, kicking him hard. Krinkle stumbles backwards, dropping to one knee, before falling to the mat.

Adrian drops down out of the corner, and staggers to his own corner, tagging August into the ring. The crowd pops as August Joyce climbs through the ropes. Krinkle gets to one knee, but as he does, Joyce leaps over him from behind, grabbing his Krinkle's head, and coming down with a modified snapmare onto the mat. Krinkle kicks his feet, before rolling to his back, allowing for Joyce to go for a pinfall.

It's only a one as Krinkle shoves him off of him. Joyce goes a good two feet into the air, before crashing to the mat, but he is able to quickly recover, scrambling to his feet, as Krinkle uses to the ropes to get back to his. Joyce moves around behind Krinkle, and then nails a chopblock to the back of Krinkle's leg, taking his leg out from under him. Krinkle drops back to the ground, and Joyce immediately lifts up Krinkle's leg, twisting it with a spinning toe hold.

Krinkle's face was pale!

Granted, that was from the make-up, but regardless, he was in pain. Blaine tries to get the crowd into chanting Krinkle, Krinkle, Krinkle, but the name doesn't really allude itself to chants, so Blaine tries a different approach. He starts to get the crowd to chant...

PUDDING

PUDDING

PUDDING

It's probably the most unusual chant I've ever heard, but whatever it was, it worked, because Krinkle started fighting his way out of that toe hold. He kicked Joyce square in the head, knocking him backwards, allowing him to get to his feet. However, as soon as he does so, Joyce once again, drives a hard kick into the side of Krinkle's leg. Krinkle drops to one knee. Joyce grabs ahold of Krinkle's head in a headlock, but as soon as he does so, Krinkle springs forward, lifting Joyce up in the process and falling backwards with a back drop. Joyce slams into the mat hard and rolls to the side, while Krinkle rolls toward his own corner. Blaine stretched his hand out...and made the tag.

Blaine jumps into the ring and immediately covers Joyce, but only gets a two count as Joyce gets a shoulder up. Blaine gets to his feet, lifting Joyce up and pushing him back into the ropes. He sends him to the other side, before falling back into the ropes to add momentum. He leaps up at the incoming Joyce and catches him with a huge jumping clothesline. Blaine goes to cover Joyce again, but once again only gets a two count. Blaine is back to his feet, and measures him, before jumping up and coming down with a leg drop across his chest. Blaine covers again, but once again Joyce gets a shoulder up. Blaine gets up, lifting Joyce up, but as soon as he does, Joyce knocks both of his hands away, grabs ahold of his head, and drops down, straight into a jawbreaker. Blaine falls backwards, holding his jaw, catching the ropes to keep him from falling all the way down. Blaine rebounds a little off the ropes, right into a toe kick from Joyce, who grabs him and lifts him up, executing a perfect vertical suplex in the center of the ring. Joyce quickly gets up and tags in Adrian.

Adrian climbs into the ring, and immediately lifts Blaine up. He wraps him into an armlock, but then twists and turns, driving a spinning kick into his face with the back of his foot. It's hard to do that move justice in words, but Blaine went down. Adrian covers, and just barely missed getting the three count. Blaine's shoulder got up at the last second. Adrian sighs heavily, before getting to his feet. He then eyes the top rope. He stomps down hard on to Blaine, and then makes his way to the top rope, climbing up to it.

He was going for some major air here, but then Krinkle climbed into the ring, not to attack Adrian, but to dance. I know, it's weird for me to say it. Krinkle started doing the same type of dance that he was doing on his way to the ring. He dropped his hands to his knees, and started to shake his butt. Adrian stared in disbelief. Hell, we were all thinking the same thing. Empires tried to get Krinkle out of the ring, but as soon as he did, Krinkle grabbed him and started dancing with him. Empires backed away, not wanting any part of that, and finally August Joyce came into the ring, yelling at Krinkle to get out of the ring. With everyone's full attention on Krinkle, Blaine slowly got to his feet and rushed the ropes. Adrian dropped off the top of them, landing spreadeagle on the top.

August realized what had happened, but before he could do anything, Krinkle grabbed him and threw him out of the ring to the floor. Blaine jumped to the second rope, grabbing ahold of Adrian, before lifting him up into a suplex...dropping backwards from the top rope, driving Adrian's head into the mat with his version of the Metal Heart Suplex, from the top rope. Blaine covers, hooking Adrian's leg, and the match was all over. The champions retained.

Blaine slowly got to his feet, as Krinkle celebrated in the ring with another dance. Empires hands them the tag championships, and Blaine holds it up, while Krinkle jumps and down with it, like he just won it all over again. On the outside, Adrian and Joyce look at the celebrating tag champs, shaking their head.

The show came to an end as Krinkle and Blaine celebrated another victory for them. At Spring Fever, it will be one hell of a match as Kit Kelsey defends his title for the first time against Blaine Harrison. We will see a huge rematch between Nick King and Brute Svenson. And in a huge match, Dixie Leigh, Johnny Royal, Adrian Hunter, and August Joyce will all be competing against each other in an over the top rope battle royal, where the winner will be one half of the tag team that will face off against Blaine and Mr. Krinkle for the tag team championship in May.

It's just one month away, make your plans to head to Morrow now!
