Future Shock Results (Saturday, January 7, 2012)
It is 2012 ladies and gentlemen. I hope everyone had a great Christmas or whatever holiday you might celebrate. I am on a new laptop, and thank god, because the other one had a "G" that was sticking, and the fact that Griffin Hawkins was on the card tonight made me dread the night, but with my new laptop, I'm ready to go.
It's hard to believe that it's been almost a year since we first opened our doors. I can't wait for next month's one year anniversary, Breakaway. It is promising to be a big show.
But that's next month. Now it is time to talk about this month's show, Future Shock.
Now the regularly scheduled six man tag match got messed all to hell. I'm not sure what happened, but I know Jace Parker Davidson up and quit. No notice given, just up and quit. So fine, he wouldn't be the first superstar to no show an event, but it is interesting, because he's married to our champion, Tara Michaels-Davidson, and is the brother-in-law of Tristian Michaels. I know Tara was here this afternoon, speaking with Jody, but I don't know what came of it. She was given the night off, so our six man tag match was changed to a tag match featuring our newly crowned tag team champions, Blaine Harrison and Mr. Krinkle in a non-title match against Nick King and a surprise partner.
And of course, the partner will be a surprise not just to us, but Nick King as well. Truth be told, the only person that seems to know who King's partner will be is Jody himself, but King's tag team partner wasn't the only surprise, because as soon as the show was ready to begin, "Four Rusted Horses" by Marilyn Manson began to play and out came our newest Peach State Wrestling employee.
Well, should I say, newest old employee and our newest referee...
John Empires has returned to Peach State Wrestling!
Empires walked to the ring in referee pinstripes and climbed in, ready for the tag team opening bout to begin.
"Mr. Krinkle" by Primus began to play and out comes Peach State's answer to running away and joining the circus, Mr. Krinkle. He comes out, much to the joy of the fans. OK, I have to admit it, even though I still hate clowns, he's done good since his debut here in Peach State. He stood halfway down the ramp, waiting for his partner.
"Let's See Action" by The Who starts and out comes Blaine Harrison, rushing down to the ramp to his partner. Despite the fact that these two never partnered before the night they won the championships, they have developed a great sense of respect for each other, and in all honesty, have started to work together like an actual true tag team. The two of them stand there for a second, and then run to the ring.
Well, Blaine runs to the ring. Krinkle moves as fast as humanly possible for a man as large as he is. The crowd loves both of them. Right now, they are the hottest thing in Peach State.
Then "King Nothing" by Metallica begins to play and out comes Nick King. The crowd instantly erupts in boos. Nick King looks like he could care less as he walks to the ring methodically. He climbs into the ring using the ring steps, and stares across the ring at his one time tag team partners before the match got changed, but then his eyes fall on Empires, who stares right back at him. Empires smirks at him. King shakes his head, not believing that Empires is back in Peach State. His eyes then turn to the entrance, waiting to see who Jody has chosen as his partner.
"Money for Nothing" by Dire Straits begins to play. Mr. Krinkle starts to jam out to it, which causes Blaine to hit him on the shoulder getting him to stop, trying to explain to him that this is his opponent. Krinkle nods. Then something odd happens.
Matt Reynolds stepped out from the entrance...in wrestling trunks.
King's head drops and he simply shakes his head. Reynolds walks to the ring, slapping the hands of the fans, and then climbs into the ring. He turns his attention to King, who looks not surprised, but annoyed. Matt walks right up to him and says something to him, and King says something right back to him, before climbing out of the ring to the apron, obviously letting Matt start things off.
The crowd finds the situation funny. Blaine and Krinkle find the situation funny, although I'm pretty sure Krinkle finds everything funny. Hell, I find the situation funny. You're talking about King, who after his big epiphany and started hated everyone, he attacked Matt Reynolds, who was the referee of the match. So this is a little on the interesting side.
Matt starts the match off with Blaine, who raises his fist, to fist bump Matt. Matt looks awkward at it, but then fist bumps Blaine as well. That might have been the most modern thing I've ever seen Matt do. The two start off, locking-up, and it is Matt who actually gets the advantage with a headlock. It's the first move Matt's made in something like two years, ever since his injury, which obviously he's recovered from.
Matt gets the headlock, but Blaine wraps his arms his waist, and lifts Matt up. He holds him up for a moment, and then brings him down with an atomic drop. Matt stumbles forward, holding the small of his back. Blaine rushes back to the ropes, and comes back, nailing Matt in the back of the head with a forearm. Matt goes down, and Blaine goes into his own corner and tags in Krinkle.
Krinkle climbs into the ring...or lumbers into the ring...or something into the ring. Matt starts to get to his feet, but still doubled over, and Krinkle comes across, bringing his knee into Matt's body. Matt falls backwards into the ropes, and Krinkle grabs his shoulders, before literally turning and throwing him over with some kind of bodyslam. Matt slams hard into the mat, and Krinkle falls back into the ropes, and comes back, jumping into the air and coming down full body with a big splash across Matt's chest.
Krinkle stays on top for the pin, but it was Nick King that kicks Krinkle off of Matt. One thing about King is he doesn't like to lose. He yells at Matt to get up, before leaving the ring. Krinkle gets up, and bends down, lifting Matt back to his feet. He slaps him across the chest and knocks him backwards into his corner, and tags in Blaine.
The two of them are working like a well oiled machine. Blaine comes in as Krinkle holds Matt in the corner, and Blaine takes over, taking Matt's arm into an armbar. He pulls him away from the corner, only to wrap Matt up and deliver a snap suplex. Blaine goes for the cover, but Matt kicks out. Blaine gets back to his feet, and pushes Matt into the ropes. He whips him to the otherside, and goes for a clothesline, but Matt ducks down. The two men go opposite sides into the ropes, and Matt comes back, ducks down, and catches Blaine with a back body drop.
Blaine slams into the mat hard, holding his back, but gets back up. As soon as he does, Matt jumps up and hits Blaine with a one legged dropkick. Not sure if it was meant to be a one legged dropkick, or if it was just the fact that he didn't get all of it, but it connected none the same. Blaine goes down, and Matt goes for the cover.
He gets a one count as Blaine kicks out. Matt gets back to his feet, lifting Blaine up, and then takes him down again with an arm drag takedown, coming down on his knee, keeping an arm bar cinched in. Matt is running a clinic on wrestling basics in this match, but it doesn't take long for Blaine to get back to a vertical base, despite Matt trying to keep him down. Blaine is able to push Matt backwards into the ropes, forcing Empires to call for a break. Matt cautiously lets go, but to his surprise, Blaine makes a clean break.
Blaine backs away, but as soon as Matt is ready to engage him again, Nick King slaps him across the back, tagging himself in. Nick climbs into the ring, and tells Matt to get the hell out of the ring. Matt stares at him, but Nick ignores him. Blaine smirks, wanting a little piece of Nick anyway, but as he goes for a lock-up, Nick drives a toe kick into the incoming Blaine. Blaine is doubled over, and Nick immediately drives his knee into Blaine's head, taking him to the mat.
King doesn't miss a beat as he turns, running full speed at his opponent's corner, nailing Krinkle with a huge forearm. Despite Krinkle's size, he wasn't anticipating it and tumbles off the apron, crashing hard to the floor below. King turns and rushes Blaine, who is trying to get up, and delivers a modified chopblock, but straight into Blaine's outstretched hand that he was using to push off the mat. Blaine drops to the mat, holding his shoulder in pain. It was obvious that King was starting to work toward that Empire Lock he's started to like to use.
King pulls Blaine back to his feet by the same arm, holds him there for a second, before twisting the arm, and dropping to the mat with a huge arm breaker. Blaine immediately grabs it in pain, rolling away from King. King gets back up to his feet, like he's standing over his prey. He steps backwards a few steps, before falling back into the ropes, coming straight back, driving a hard kick into Blaine's shoulder. He glances over to the corner, seeing Krinkle try to pull himself up to the apron. He doesn't hesitate. He rushes over to him, and drives a kick into his head, knocking him off the apron again.
The crowd is booing loudly, as King walks over to Blaine, lifting him up, pushing him into the ropes, and sending him to the other side. King follows him into it, and drives a knee into Blaine's midsection as he starts to rebound off the ropes, flipping him over onto his back on the mat.
King extends Blaine's arm out, and then drives a hard stomp into it. Blaine once again rolls, clutching his arm in pain. King methodically follows him, lifting him up, and nailing him with a European uppercut sending him stumbling back toward the center of the ring. He starts toward him, when it is his turn to feel a slap across the back. Nick turns, angrily, seeing Matt having tagged himself in.
Nick asked him what the hell is he thinking, but Matt ignored him and just climbed on into the ring. This was met with a push from Nick. The crowd began to cheer as Matt glanced at them, and then turned and rocked King with a right hand. King was shocked by the punch, not expecting Matt to actually do it. Matt hammers him again and again, leaving King staggered. Matt stepped back, raised his hand, ready to deliver a huge haymaker, when suddenly Mr. Krinkle slams into King with a huge sloppy clothesline. King is sent flying over the top rope, crashing to the floor below.
Both Matt and Krinkle watch as King actually bounces off the floor before coming to a rest. Matt smiles, patting Krinkle on the shoulder, both momentarily forgetting that they are partners. The moment passes very quickly, and Matt swings a right hook, but it just glances off of Krinkle's shoulder, as Krinkle grabs ahold of Matt and nails him with a huge headbutt. Matt stumbles backwards, almost falling, but somehow managing to stay on his feet. He turns and walks right into an awaiting Blaine.
Blaine drives a kick to his midsection, doubling him over, and then sets up for the suplex. He lifts him up and delivers a picture perfect Metal Heart Suplex to the center of the ring. Blaine covers and gets an easy three count. Blaine and Krinkle celebrate, and start to leave the ring, but then Blaine realizes something. He turns, seeing King grabbing a steel chair on the outside of the ring, his eyes staring straight at Matt, who is trying to recover in the ring. Blaine taps Krinkle on the shoulder, and the two of them nod, and rush over, putting themselves between Matt and King.
King maybe a lot of things, but he's not stupid. He stares up at them, and tells them both that it isn't over, before throwing the chair down to the ground and leaving.
What an opening contest, where we saw Blaine Harrison and Mr. Krinkle pick up a victory, but most importantly, we saw Matt Reynolds return to the ring, but if King has his way, it might not be for very long.
We had a brief intermission prior to the main event, in which the whole roster...well almost the whole roster...well...pretty much Blaine, Krinkle, Finn Cambridge, Whirlwind, and the man himself, Jody Wilson were at ringside meeting and greeting people, signing autographs, and taking photos with everyone.
Me, I got a Mr. Pibb. The weather here is crazy. It's beginning of January, and I'm wearing a short sleeved shirt. It's mid-60s here tonight. It's crazy, just crazy.
After the intermission was over, it was time for the main event. Even knowing the match was about to start, nobody had a clue when Jody was going to make his big announcement. We were all on pins and needles, but he was obviously saving it for after the main event, because "No Regrets" by Dappy started to play, signalling the intro of our first contestant in the main event, Finn Cambridge.
Finn came out to some good fan fair as he made his way down to the ring. He slapped the hands of some friends, before finally climbing into the ring and waiting for his opponents for this once in a lifetime opportunity.
"Europa" by Globus began to play and out come the behemath. "The Incredible" Brute Svenson!!! He loomed over every fan in attendance, as none of them were even close. I'll tell you this. If you've seen photos of this guy, they don't do him justice. He's just a massive individual. He might not be the biggest man in professional wrestling, but he is one of the toughest pound for pound guys there is.
"I Don't Care" by Apocalyptica began to play and out came the energetic Whirlwind. He wastes no time, running down to the ring, sliding in under the bottom rope, before popping up again, almost running smack dab into Brute as he does so. Brute might have snorted at him, and Whirlwind quickly holds his hands up like he was sorry and backs away. Finn gets a chuckle out of the whole thing, as does Whirlwind after he is safely away from the big guy.
Finally, "Back in the Saddle" by Sebastian Bach and Axl Rose begins to play and out comes Griffin Hawkins, Peach State's One Man Rock Star. He makes his way out to the ring as the crowd pretty much entirely cheers him. He climbs into the ring and then to the top rope, his arms in the air.
All four of them, one in each corner stare at each other, with John Empires standing in the center. Suddenly the crowd begins to buzz as none other than Jody Wilson steps from the entrance and heads down toward the ring. However, that wasn't why they were buzzing.
He had the Peach State Championship slung over his shoulder.
All four competitors stared at Jody, not sure what is going on, as he climbed into the ring and asked for a mic. He is quickly given one and he doesn't waste anytime letting everyone know what is going on.
He said that Tara has been removed from Peach State Wrestling and the title is now vacant, but it wouldn't be vacant for long. The men in this ring represent the future of Peach State Wrestling. All men who have come in here and impressed the hell out of him, but also have so far not been given a title show. Well tonight, they have one, because this match is no longer for a title shot...it is for the Peach State Championship.
He holds the title above his head, before climbing out of the ring. All four men stare at him, before turning and staring at each other. This match just got a whole lot more interesting. Before chaos breaks out, Empires goes over the rules with them, letting them know it's a four corners match, and not a fatal four way. There can only be two men in the match at a time. Tagging in and out. Eliminations, until there is only one left.
The four of them understand, and then look at each other to determine who's going to start off first. Griffin, Whirlwind, and Finn start to do Rock, Paper, Scissors, but before they can throw their choice, Brute grabs Finn by the neck, lifts him up, and slams him straight into the mat with a monster chokeslam. Both Whirlwind and Griffin immediately back away, as Brute covers. Empires stares in disbelief for a moment, before dropping down and making the count.
The crowd is in shock as Brute has already eliminated Finn from this match, making this a three way dance now. Brute showed with that one move that this match isn't fun and games. They are fighting for the championship. Brute slowly gets back to his feet, as Whirlwind and Griffin take a step backwards, looking at each other, trying to figure out who was going to go next. Brute got to his feet, and finally Griffin and Whirlwind both rush him, leaping into the air, and connecting with a double dropkick. Brute stumbles backwards, and drops to the mat hard.
Whirlwind and Griffin nod at each other, but then Griffin leaps up and connects with a standing enziguri. Whirlwind is knocked down, and rolls out underneath the bottom rope to the floor, leaving Griffin and Brute alone in the ring.
Griffin turns back to Brute who is trying to get up off the ground. He rushes him, and leaps into the air, driving both of his knees into Brute's chest. Brute falls backwards, and Griffin drops down, covering, but he only gets a one count as Brute throws him off. Brute tries to get back to his feet, but Griffin counters rushing to him, and grabbing his head, connecting with a swinging neckbreaker.
Griffin once again goes for a cover, but Brute kicks out. Griffin gets back to his feet and runs to the ropes, coming back, but as he does, Brute pulls himself up to one knee, and catches Griffin, as he stands up, twirling around and slamming him down with a spinning side slam. Brute covers, but Griffin kicks out after two.
Brute slowly gets back to his feet. He lifts Griffin back to his feet and sends him flying into the ropes. Brute falls backs into the ropes and rebounds, but as he does so, Whirlwind tags himself in. Brute goes for a clothesline, but Griffin ducks it, but is caught off guard as Whirlwind springboards into the ring with his own clothesline, taking Griffin down. Brute turns around, and stares, obviously not feeling the tag. Empires tells him he has to get out of the ring, just as Whirlwind covers Griffin.
He only gets a one count as Griffin kicks out. Whirlwind immediately gets back to his feet, takes a step back, but then moves forward, leaping into the air and delivers a perfect standing star press, coming down on top of Griffin for another pin attempt. This time he gets a two count as Griffin gets a shoulder up. Whirlwind jumps up, and runs to the ropes, leaping up onto them, and springboarding backwards with an Asai moonsault, but as he lands, Griffin brings up his knees and Whirlwind slams into them, and bounces off of him.
Whirlwind rolls to the side, holding his gut, as Griffin rolls to his stomach, and makes the crawl over to where Brute is standing. Griffin tags himself out, and then rolls out underneath the bottom rope, allowing Brute to climb into the ring. Whirlwind tries to get back to his feet, but as he does so, Brute drives a huge boot to the head. Whirlwind literally flips in mid-air, before crashing face first into the mat. Brute drops down and covers, but just as Empires hand came down for the three, Whirlwind's foot lands on the bottom rope. Empires stops the count and points. Brute stares at him, not believing that it wasn't a pinfall.
Brute gets back to his feet, bending down, lifting Whirlwind up. He drives him back into the corner with a huge chop across his chest. Whirlwind is almost knocked down from the chop by itself. In the corner, Brute delivers another one and another one, before sending Whirlwind flying to the other side. Whirlwind slams into the corner hard, his arms draped over the top, barely able to stay on his feet.
Brute lets out a roar and rushes toward him like a full speed locomotive, but at the last moment, Whirlwind spins out of the way, and Brute's chest slams into the turnbuckle. Brute stumbles backwards, struggling to stay on his feet, as Whirlwind leaps up to the top rope. He measures for just a split second, and then spins off the top rope, catching Brute in the side of his head with a big spin kick off the top rope. Brute crashes to the mat, one of the few times Brute has ever been taken off his feet in such dramatic fashion.
Whirlwind covered, but Brute got a shoulder up on the two count. Whirlwind shakes his head, obviously trying to figure out what he had to do to keep the big man down. Whirlwind backs up, but as soon as he does, Griffin tags himself in. Whirlwind looks confused, but Griffin doesn't bother to explain himself. He rushes over to the down Brute and leaps into the air, coming down with a running senton onto Brute, before trying to cover.
Brute kicks out after a two count, and Griffin immediately goes back on the attack, driving rights and lefts on the prone Brute, but despite the barrage, Brute somehow manages to get to one knee. Griffin hammers him again, and Brute shoves Griffin backwards, but Griffin goes straight back to the attack, but Brute gets back to his feet and blocks a right hand from Griffin and hammers Griffin with a monster right hand. Griffin stumbles backwards, shakes his head, and then launches himself at Brute.
Griffin leaps into the air, trying to catch Brute off guard, but this time he is unsuccessful, as Brute catches him, and hiptosses him over the top rope. Griffin lands feet first on the apron, but his momentum carries him forward, slipping off and crashing to the floor. Brute doesn't waste anytime, and follows him out, climbing first over the top rope, and then dropping to the floor below. Griffin gets to his knees and tries to crawl away on them, but Brute catches him, grabbing a handful of his hair, yanking him to his feet. Brute pulls his hand back, but before he can do anything, Whirlwind flies through the ropes, crashing into both men with a big suicide dive. Griffin flies backwards, while Brute goes to the side, all three of them going to the ground.
The crowd pops loudly at the move. Whirlwind is the first one back to his feet, and he rolls back into the ring, before being yelled at by Empires to go back to his corner. Brute slowly gets to his feet, deciding to take it back to the ring. He walks over to Griffin, grabbing ahold of him again, and throwing him into the ring. Griffin rolls to a stop, as Brute climbs back into the ring. Brute bends down, and picks up Griffin. He nails him with a huge knife edge chop, as Griffin stumbles all the way back to the opposite corner, before falling into it. Brute steps backwards, measuring Griffin on the otherside, when Whirlwind tags himself in. Brute turns, not realizing he was there. Brute almost turns back toward Griffin anyway, but Empires is there telling him to get out of the ring.
Whirlwind leaps into the ring, and measures Griffin, waiting for him to get back to his feet. Griffin uses the corner to pull himself up, and as he turns around, Whirlwind rushes him, but Griffin was ready for him. It's Griffin who rushes him, but some how anticipated that, and leapt over the incoming Griffin, catching the top of the corner with his hands, and pushing off, spinning in mid-air, landing forward toward Griffin, right as Griffin turns and drives a huge superkick...the Shot in the Dark...straight into his face. Whirlwind collapses back into the corner, as Griffin immediately grabs his feet and drags him away from the corner, before covering, hooking his leg, getting the three count.
As soon as the bell rang for the three count, Brute climbed in. Griffin knew it wasn't over, and despite the exhaustion, he quickly got back to his feet again. Whatever Brute was planning to do, he stopped, probably not expecting Griffin to move that quickly. These two have had a war since coming into Peach State...an unfinished war to be sure, and right now, it seems very fitting that these two men, who have never held gold in Peach State, stand in each other's way.
Brute makes the first move, trying to grab Griffin, but Griffin ducks under his hands, and comes up behind Brute, wrapping his arms around Brute's waist. I'm not sure what Griffin was trying to do with this, but it failed miserably, as Brute reaches down and wrenches Griffin's hands off of him, turning around to him, and lifting him up into the air by his own arms, before slamming him down into the mat.
Brute doesn't wait, as he reaches down, a hand around Griffin's throat, and yanks him back to his feet. He lifts him into the air, going for a chokeslam, but Griffin, almost out of instinct, rakes his hands across Brute's face, stunning him. Griffin drops to the mat, and immediately delivers a low dropkick to Brute's knee. Brute's leg shoots out from under him, causing him to drop to one knee. Griffin gets back to his feet and runs to the ropes, coming back, as Brute looks up, and catches him with a leg lariat. Brute drops backwards, and Griffin goes for a pinfall, but only gets a two count as Brute gets a shoulder up.
Griffin gets back to his feet and measures Brute, before leaping into the air, coming down with a fist to his head, but as he does so, Brute reaches straight up, and catches Griffin by his throat as he comes down. He rolls to his side, continuing to hold onto Griffin, and gets to his feet, as Griffin fights to get him to let go, but Brute refuses to, and as he gets upright, Brute immediately roars and slams his head into Griffin.
Griffin stumbles for a moment, before collapsing to ground in a heap. Brute drops down to cover, and the crowd thought it was over. Hell, I thought it was over, but Griffin's foot went to the bottom rope just as Empires's hand came down for the three.
It actually hit the mat, but the foot was on the rope first. For a split second, Brute thought he had won, before seeing Empires pointing to Griffin's foot. Brute looks pissed at this point, and reaches down, grabbing Griffin with both hands, and yanking him to his feet, but as soon as he does, Griffin delivers a thumb to his eye. Brute stumbles backwards, and as soon as he looks up, Griffin goes for the Shot in the Dark.
But Brute caught it.
I'm not saying he blocked it. Or ducked it. Or anything like that.
He caught Griffin's foot in mid-air.
Griffin's eyes went wide as Brute's face was not amused, but then Griffin did the only thing he could think of. He leapt up, and caught Brute with his free foot right into the back of his head with an enziguri. Brute lets go of the foot and stumbles backwards, holding his head. Brute turns around back to Griffin, and the pop could be heard in Peachtree City, because Griffin connected with a huge Shot in the Dark.
Brute collapsed to the ground, and Griffin literally leapt from the place he fell from his own move and covered.
He got a one.
He got a two.
He got...a shoulder up!
The crowd couldn't believe it. Brute got a shoulder up after a Shot in the Dark. Griffin stared at Empires, not believing what just happened. Griffin didn't looked pissed. He looked like he didn't have anything left. He crawled off of Brute and crawled to the corner. Brute begins to stir, and slowly gets to his feet, and Griffin gets up. I could almost see the wheels turning in his head as he was trying to figure out how to keep the monster down.
Brute got back to his feet, and as he does, Griffin measures and connects with his second Shot in the Dark to Brute. Brute stands for a second, before turning and collapsing toward the center of the ring, and this time, Griffin doesn't go for the cover. Instead, he goes for the top rope.
The crowd is going wild as Brute is down, and Griffin stands on the top rope. He leaps off, connecting with a perfect swanton bomb, crashing down on top of Brute hard. Griffin rolls off of Brute, before stopping himself, and draping himself across Brute.
He got the one.
He got the two.
He got the...
CHAMPIONSHIP
The bell rings and the crowd goes wild as Griffin rolls off of Brute, checking Empires to make sure it's true, and as soon as Empires nods, Griffin leaps to his feet. The crowd is cheering loudly as Griffin gets his hand raised.
Brute slowly rolls out of the ring, glancing back at Griffin, a little anger on his face, before making his way to the back.
Jody Wilson climbs back into the ring, the title still over his shoulder. Griffin stares at him, as Jody takes the title from his shoulder and hands it to Griffin. Griffin takes it and slings it into the air, holding it high above him. He leaps up to the top rope holding the title up in celebration.
And then Jody begins to speak into the mic. Griffin actually starts to leave, but Jody tells him to stick around for a minute, because he has something to say to him.
Jody talks about how Dixieland has been home to them for a year, but it's time to move on. Jody has never been one to beat around the bush when it comes to talking about stuff. He says, starting with our one year anniversary, we will Breakaway from Dixieland and begin to move around the region, starting with the Metropolis Arena in McDonough, Georgia.
That was the big announcement before everything that happened in past week.
He wasn't done though as he said that next month also sees the return of two of the most recognizable names in Peach State...Dixie Leigh and "The People's Choice" August Joyce...both making their return to Peach State!
The crowd popped for both of their names, as they are two people that the crowd always loved.
Then Jody turned his attention to Griffin. He congratulated him, but he told him that some people will say he's a paper champion, that despite going through a hell of a competition here tonight, that seeing he didn't beat Tara, he will never actually be the true champion, and while he can't do anything about having him face Tara, he promises him that after next month, if Griffin holds on to the title, nobody will be able to say anything about whether he is a deserving champion or not, because he has three words for him...
Irish Battle Royal
All Griffin does is looked confused. He asked Jody what the hell an Irish Battle Royal is, and Jody simply smiled and said look it up.
It was then that Jody left the ring, leaving Griffin to wonder what the hell an Irish Battle Royal was.
But he might not know, but I know exactly what it is. It's a one of a kind match that I've only ever heard performed one other place in a fed over in England called Ricochet. It's a match featuring everyone on the roster. Starts out like a royal rumble, but then when it gets to the last person...the champion...you have to pin or submit people to eliminate them, until it comes down to just one person and the champion.
It's a grueling match, and truth be told, nobody who the champion is after Breakaway, they have literally beaten everyone on the roster. Nobody will say they don't deserve it.
Nobody.
Breakaway is our one year anniversary, and with just one match on the card, it's shaping up to our biggest one ever.
I'm going to miss you Dixieland, but McDonough here we come!!!
See you in February everyone!
