Peach State Wrestling leaves the Alliance, More

Earlier today, Jody Wilson, owner of Peach State Wrestling, announced that they would no longer be affiliated with the National Wrestling Alliance. Wilson sited a lack of faith in the leadership, and feeling that it would be best to cut ties and focus on having Peach State move away from the Alliance.

"It wasn't a move that I chose lightly. Being a part of the National Wrestling Alliance brought us guys like the NWA World Tag Team Champions, Ascended Supremecy, and former NWA World Heavyweight Champion, "The Rising Star" Jay Jousma, which wouldn't have been possible without being a member there. It also brought us tremendous opportunities, such as the NWA World Heavyweight Champion, Magnus Randell, agreeing to come to Peach State and wrestle our champion, Kidd Kaboom, in an exhibition match. However, it has also cost us several opportunities as well, and in the end, the NWA is not the place where Peach State needs to be."

The wrestlers were informed this morning prior to the announcement being made and were all shocked to learn of it. It is not known if this sudden departure from the NWA will cause a hit on their small roster.

"I hope not. Peach State may have a small roster, but it is a good roster. They work well together. They put on some great matches. We honestly have some of the best guys and girls in the business right now, and despite what persona they put out there, they all are good people. However, if they choose to leave Peach State because of this, then I fully understand, and we will just have to move on without them."

Recently, the NWA signed two new feds, High Octane Wrestling and Rocky Mountain Pro Wrestling, however, after just a week of being part of the Alliance, HOW were thrown out of the Alliance when several of their rosters angered the wrong people politically. However, despite them being thrown out, both Lee Best, owner of HOW, and Jody agreed to work with one another in a series of matches. Ascended Supremecy, Jace Parker Davidson and Tara Michaels, will be granted a HOW Tag Team Championship shot against newly crowned champions, Rhys Townsed and Evan Ward. In return, Jody has booked Jace Parker Davidson into the main event of September's show, Fall Fight, against a member of the HOW. Who he will face has not been determined by HOW management yet. It will be interesting to see who HOW will send, but even more so if Ascended Supremacy walk away from the HOW event as their Tag Team Champions.

It is not known if this decision to continue to work with HOW is what ultimately lead to Peach State's leaving of the NWA, but it probably was not the best move politically on his part, however, Jody has never been one to shy away from controversy. Nearly fifteen years ago, Jody staged a walk-out of talent during the middle of a show for the now defunct North Carolina Wrestling, due to some talent not being paid. North Carolina Wrestling never recovered from the incident, and it cost Jody several higher paying bookings due to political ramifications from the issue.

"Right is right, simple as that. And what's right for Peach State at the moment is for us to move away from the NWA."
