Fight in Fayetteville Results (Saturday, March 5, 2011)

Can someone explain something to me? Now, if you've ever been to a wrestling show, they always have the tendency to play some great classic rock music while people are moving to their seats, getting their drinks, getting their autographs from the punk princess Ruby Gloom, and whatever else they do before the show starts. But why, in the state of Georgie, does everybody get so excited about Sweet Home Alabama? Isn't Alabama pretty much the only state that Georgia can make fun of? So why is this one song, which is awesome by the way, but why is it so revered in Georgia?

Also, it was raining last night. I mean out right pouring, and I was put on bucket duty due to the leak in the corner that they still hadn't fixed. I had to switch it out 2 or 3 times through-out the night, which let me tell you, was about as much fun as it sounds.

Oh, and in case you haven't figured it out, the opinions stated here are mine and mine alone, not Peach State Wrestling's. I've also been asked to bite my tongue on the whole Sorin Webster and Angelica Jackson dropping off the show at the last minute as well. I'll be honest, it pissed me off, but Jody told me this stuff is common in the business, and to be honest, what we ended up seeing in the main event made things totally worth the change.

The crowd was a little smaller than last week, probably due to the weather. Only 63 people this time, but it was a hot crowd, which made up for it being smaller.

I feel like I'm repeating myself every month, but the opening match was supposed to be a three way dance featuring Havoc, Kimba Seanoa, and Sean Saint. The only problem is that Havoc didn't bother to show up tonight. No call. No text message. No e-mail. Hell, he didn't even update his Facebook status. He just didn't show, so the match got switched to just Kimba versus Saint with a shot at the Peach State Championship on the line. Both of them came out to the ring, Kimba to his Death March and Saint to Linkin' Park's Wish. The two of them were about to square off, when Disturbed's Averice came on and out came Ruby Gloom in her full on wrestling gear. The crowd, most having gotten autographs from her earlier, cheered for her loudly. In the ring, nobody quite knew how to react to her climbing into the ring. She got a mic and addressed the crowd saying that they were promised a triple threat and she's here to deliver it. The crowd quite liked this, as she tossed the mic to Natalie, and prepared for action.

Saint and Kimba kind of looked at each other and then just shrugged their shoulders. I don't think they cared one bit about Ruby adding herself to the match. They were preparing for a lightweight highflying brawler in Havoc, and instead got a lightweight highflying brawler...with longer hair...and boobs.

Matt called for the bell starting the match up, and the three superstars immediately begin to size each other up. Kimba was obviously the favorite in this match, even with Ruby's experience on her size. Kimba is literally and figuratively twice the size of both of his opponents. This is something that both Saint and Ruby come to the same conclusion to as they both go after him at the same time, hammering away. Kimba was backed into the corner, but then just stiff arms Ruby, knocking her backwards, and then drove an elbow into Saint's head. Saint staggers backwards, and Kimba pushes forward, clotheslining Saint. Saint flips over the top rope and crashes to the outside. Kimba quickly turned back to Ruby, who has faced larger opponents before. Kimba took a step toward her, but she immediately jumps in the air and connects with a low dropkick that took out Kimba's knee. He hobbles backwards. Ruby goes for another one, connecting with it perfectly, and this one takes the big man down to one knee. Ruby quickly got back to her feet, and rushes Kimba taking him down with a step-up enziguri. Kimba flops to the mat face first. Ruby didn't pause for a moment. She immediately rushes to the otherside of the ring, rebounding back, and goes for some kind of springboard move.

The only thing is that Saint had gotten back to his feet, and grabbed the ropes. Ruby's attempt to plant her feet on the ropes was unsuccessful and she sailed straight to the ropes, slamming into the ground below. Saint watched as Ruby hits the ground, and then immediately turns his attention to Kimba, who is still down. Saint jumps up, and then flips over the top rope, landing on the back of Kimba's head with a leg drop. Saint rolls Kimba over and covers, but only got a one count as Ruby yanks him back through the ropes to the floor below. Ruby nails him with a right hand, but Saint fired back with one of his own as they traded blows on the outside of the ring.

Before I go on, let me let you visualize what our ringside looks like. There's the ring apron, and about six feet away, there's the front row. And it's general admission, so the front row never has an empty seat...unless, of course, someone went to the bathroom. There's a sign on the door when you come into the warehouse that says PSW is not responsible for anything that happens...like say, if a wrestler leaps off the top rope crashing into the third row while going for an opponent that is trying to runaway. It basically means that if you see the wrestlers heading in your direction, you best be on the move, which is exactly what happened when Saint and Ruby started heading toward the crowd trading blows.

And it's a good things they did, because Kimba had finally gotten to his feet, and showed that the largest man in Peach State Wrestling has some highflying moves of his own, as he launched himself through the ropes with a suicide dive, crashing into both Ruby and Saint, sending them both into the now empty rows of folding chairs. The crowd ate it up as there was fans of all three of these individuals under the roof.

Kimba gets back to his feet, and immediately grabs Saint, yanking him up. Kimba grabbed him by his head, and throws him head first into the ring post, sending Saint down to the ground. Kimba turned, seeing Ruby try to get to her feet, and he immediately went to grab her, but she slid between his legs, and got to her feet. Kimba was not going to get bested by her again, and immediately turned with a mule kick. Ruby fell backwards. The only thing that kept her from going to the ground again was the ring apron. Kimba grabbed her, lifting her up into the air with a military press. He holds her there for a moment, before launching her through the ropes and back into the ring. He turned toward Saint, and began to lift him up, but Saint drives a fist into his gut. Kimba paused for a moment, but then continued to lift. Saint drove another blow and another blow into Kimba's gut, finally getting him to let go. Saint grabbed Kimba, and leaps up, driving a knee into his head. Kimba is rocked and falls backwards.

Saint looked into the ring, seeing that Ruby is still there and down. He began to climb to the top rope, and the crowd was on their feet, waiting for Saint to fly. And fly he did. He leapt off the top rope, flipping backwards, and coming down, but at the last moment, Ruby rolls out of the way, letting Saint crash land into the mat hard. Ruby pulled herself up to her feet, just as Kimba began to collect his senses from the knee strike. Ruby measured Saint, waiting for him to get up. Saint slowly got to his feet, and Ruby rushed him, and leapt up, catching him with a big flying head scissors, which she attributes to having a Bad Hair Day. Saint slams hard into the mat, and Ruby is immediately back to her feet, at the same time Kimba climbed back into the ring. Ruby didn't waste a time. She rushed near him, leaping up onto the ropes, and springboards. She went for her Asai DDT she's known for, but Kimba caught her in mid-air, turned, and dumped her backwards over the top rope. Ruby crashed to the ground.

Then the largest man in Peach State Wrestling went to the top rope. The crowd was on their feet as Kimba Seanoa launched himself off the top rope and crash landed with a huge diving headbutt to Sean Saint's head. Kimba bounced, as Saint was laid out, definitely no hope of getting up at the moment. Kimba rolls over, hooking Saint's leg and pinned him.

In just two shows, the crowd has embraced Kimba as one of their favorites, and he will have a chance to prove himself as the best wrestler in Peach State at our next show, Rise Today, because winning this match has granted him a title shot. TWN's Ruby Gloom showed her class at the end of the match as well, applauding Kimba in his victory, but at the same time telling him he was lucky. Kimba lets her know that anytime she wants to come back to Peach State, he'd be happy to take her on. Ruby told him she might have to take him up on that.

There was an intermission as they prepared for the main event. Owner Jody Wilson came out from the back to greet the fans. Also hanging out in the crowd was newest signee, Dixie Leigh, who was soaking in the excitement of her future opponents. I would find out later that she had already seen the person who would be her first opponent, as at Rise Today, she will face off against Sean Saint in her Peach State debut.

Rise Today should be an absolutely huge show. I know Jody is lining up some big names to appear on the show. Afterall, it is Wrestlemania weekend, and there's a lot of people coming in for that, and Jody's roots in wrestling runs deep, so I can't wait to see who'll be here for it.

Alright, back to the action, in what I'm already going to tell you is a definite match of the year contender already, and it's only the second show for Peach State. At First Steps, Kidd Kaboom became the first Peach State Champion, eliminating Trenton Williams in the battle royal for victory. All month he had been preparing for Angelica Jackson, who last weekend up and dropped from Peach State, so the card was changed, and Trenton Williams, the #1 Contender, was given the title shot instead. So both of these men, who came into this week expecting different opponents, now had to step up to the plate.

And the trash talk started almost immediately. I love the age of Twitter. Who needs a camera and a mic phone for some good ole fashioned trash talk, because Kaboom and Trenton have been going back and forth on Twitter all week. Trenton questioned whether Kaboom's parents were related prior to having him. Kaboom called Trenton a douchebag. And it just kept on going. If you're not following these guys...or any of the stars of Peach State, then...well...why the hell not? Get on that.

Trenton "Live Wire" Williams came out first to Haystack's "Run, Hide, Duck." He seems to have truly embraced becoming the bad guy in Peach State Wrestling. He came out and the crowd just started booing him. The respect that he seemed to earn from the crowd last week is gone, and he doesn't seem to give a damn. He hits the ring and let it be known that he plans on walking out with the championship.

And then came Kidd Kaboom, the Peach State Champion, to "Boom" by POD. The crowd were on their feet the moment his music hit. He came out with the title around his waist and slapped the hands of the fans as he walked out. He climbed into the ring and it was all business at that point. The two opponents stared at each other as Kaboom handed the title to Matt to hold up for the crowd to see. He hands it to Natalie, and then the match began.

The two men circled each other, neither giving an inch on each other. Evenly matched in both height and weight and style. They went for a collar and elbow tie up, each jockeying for position, but neither getting it. They pushed off each other and then went for it again. Once again, neither man could get the advantage, so they pushed off each other again. One more time, and this time, they pushed each other into the corner, with Kaboom's back to it. Matt tells them to break. Trenton, for a split second, acted like it was going to be a clean break, but then drove a fist into Kaboom's jaw. Trenton nails him again and then sends him to the otherside of the ring with an Irish whip. Kaboom hit the corner hard and Trenton followed him in, but Kaboom ducked out of the way. Trenton hit the empty corner and turned around, right into a right hand by Kaboom. Trenton is rocked as Kaboom lays into him with repeated knife edge chops.

Kaboom grabs ahold of him and sends him to the opposite side with his own Irish Whip. Trenton hits the corner hard and Kaboom followed him in with a running clothesline. Kaboom grabbed his arm, and slings him out of the corner with an arm drag. Trenton hits the mat, and Kaboom locked on the armbar. Kaboom applied a lot of pressure to it, possibly going for a potential arm submission later in the match. Using his free hand for leverage, Trenton pushed himself into a better position, and managed to get to his feet, with Kaboom still holding onto the hold. Trenton drives an inside elbow into Kaboom, forcing him to let go of the arm bar. Trenton drove a toe kick into Kaboom's gut, doubling him over. Trenton stepped away and then rushed him, bringing up his knee with a quick running knee struck. Kaboom hit the mat hard, and Trenton turned right around, measured, dropping down with a fist drop to Kaboom's head. Trenton covered, but only got the one, as Kaboom kicked out.

Trenton got back to his knees, and pulled Kaboom up for a rear chinlock, applying pressure, and wearing Kaboom down. Kaboom started to pull himself up and away from Trenton, but as soon as he got into any position to do anything, Trenton takes him down with a forearm across his chest. Kaboom went down, and Trenton immediately dropped a knee across Kaboom's head. Trenton got to his feet, and lifted Kaboom up, picking him up with both arms, before slamming him downward with a bodyslam. Trenton stood up, looking down at Kaboom, and measured him out, before dropping down with a leg drop across his chest. Trenton covered Kaboom again, but only got a two count, as Kaboom got a shoulder up at the last moment.

Trenton shook his head, and got back to his feet, lifting Kaboom to his feet again. He grabbed his arm and pulled him toward him and nearly took his head off with a powerful short arm clothesline. Kaboom went down hard, and Trenton immediately covered again. People thought he got the pinfall, but Kaboom got a shoulder up once again. Trenton was frustrated and said something to Matt, but Matt just ignored him, and Trenton got back to his feet, lifting Kaboom up. He pushed him into the ropes, and slung him across to the otherside. Kaboom rebounds off the ropes, right into a running Trenton, going for a monster lariat. At the last possible second, Kaboom ducked, and slid underneath the passing clothesline. Trenton tried to recover, but Kaboom turned around swinging, catching Trenton with a perfect discus punch that shook Trenton. Trenton stumbled backwards, and Kaboom runs past him, jumping up, and springboarding backwards, grabbing hold of Trenton's head, and slamming it into the mat with a bulldog. Trenton hit with such impact, and turns over. Kaboom got right back to his feet, rushed to the ropes, and came back, leaping up into the air, and coming down with a perfect double leg drop across his head and chest. Kaboom covered, but only got a two count as Trenton got a shoulder up before the three.

Kaboom got back to his feet and lifted Trenton up. Trenton swings wildly, but misses, turning himself around in the process. Kaboom grabbed him, lifting him up, and slamming him down with an atomic drop, jarring Trenton's entire body. Trenton slowly turned around, and Kaboom grabbed hold of him, planting his shoulder underneath Trenton's jaw, and then grabbed ahold, before dropping straight down with a sit-out shoulder jawbreaker. Trenton fell backwards, his arms spread eagle on the ground. Kaboom covered, but only got the two count, as Trenton's shoulder got up at the last possible moment. It was Kaboom's turn to get frustrated, but not at Matt, but at the situation. He looked down at Trenton, probably wondering what he would have to do to put him down. He then looked up and out into the crowd, raising his arm into the air, drawing a big pop from the crowd. He got to his feet and measured Trenton, waiting for him to get up. He was going for the BadaBOOM, the move that would surely be able to put Trenton away. Trenton slowly rolled over, and Kaboom made sure he stayed to his back, not wanting Trenton to ruin the surprise. Trenton began to pull himself to his feet, and then turned. Kaboom made his move, but as soon as he did, Trenton lifted his foot, catching Kaboom with a powerful front savate kick to his head. Kaboom's head snapped backwards, and he goes down, holding his neck.

Trenton dropped to one knee, but got back up. He waved both his hands like this was it. He grabbed Kaboom, and lifted him up onto his shoulders. The crowd was booing and cheering for Kaboom, trying to get him back into this, and Kaboom complies, as he pulls his leg away from Trenton's grip and drives a knee into Trenton's unprotected head. Trenton is stunned, but holds on. He continued to hold on after the first one...and the second one, but not the third one, as he lost his balance, allowing for Kaboom to flip over, landing on his feet right in front of him. Kaboom stunned him with a toe kick, then turns, grabbing his head, and dropped him hard with the BadaBOOM.

The crowd went wild as Kaboom covered, and, for a split second, everyone, including me, thought he won the match as Matt's hand dropped down for the three count, but then it stopped, as Matt pointed to Trenton's leg, which sat firmly on the bottom rope. The crowd was disappointed, but then got back on the Kaboom cheering train as he got back to his feet, himself not believing what just happened. He held his hand up into the air, showing the index finger, letting everyone know that he's going for another one. The crowd got back to its feet, and Kaboom began to lift Trenton up again. Out of nowhere, Trenton powered upwards, grabbing ahold of Kaboom, and then sweeping his leg, slamming Kaboom down hard onto the mat. Kaboom's head bouncing off the mat hard, his world instantly going all stars. The move was called the Street Sweeper by Trenton, and he planted it on Kaboom in the center of the ring. Trenton stayed down on top of Kaboom, already in the pin position, his arm draped on top of Kaboom. The crowd were waiting for Kaboom to kick out or get a shoulder up or some how miraculously get a foot on the rope, but the only thing they got was Matt's hand coming down for the third time.

The bell rang, and the crowd couldn't believe it. They're hero, Kidd Kaboom, had lost the Peach State Championship in his first title defense. Trenton sat-up, Matt raising his arm, as the crowd began to boo. Matt went to the ropes, being handed the championship, as Trenton struggled to get to his feet. Matt came back to raise his hand again and to officially hand him the title, but Trenton didn't care about the ceremony. He snatched the title out of Matt's hand and pushed him backwards. Trenton held the title up to the crowd, allowing them to boo him for another moment, before he climbed out of the ring and left as the new champion.

The move that put Kidd Kaboom may not have been Trenton's biggest and baddest move in his arsenal, but it was effective. I would find out that Kaboom suffered a minor concussion when his head hit the mat like that, which would put anyone down for the count like that. And it has already been announced that Kidd Kaboom will receive his rematch at May's big show, called No Excuses. However, whether he receives his rematch against the man who took the title away from him, in Trenton, or the man who earned his own title shot, Kimba, remains to be seen. For that, we'll have to wait for Rise Today.
