Battleground - 09/22/2012

[the show opens with a simple title card for Peach State Wrestling that fades into tonight's Battleground logo, while some free use rock music plays over it. The Battleground logo fades to a shot of the voice of Peach State Wrestling, Jaxson Hunter, standing in front of the camera. Behind him is a Peach State Wrestling backdrop]

Jaxson: Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to Peach State Wrestling. This is our second television episode, and let me take you back to last month's first episode, Reboot, where we crowned our brand new Peach State Champion in a one night tournament, that saw it come down to two people...Blaine Harrison and Kit Kelsey. It was truly a great contest, as these two knew each other so well, but in the end, it was a mistake that cost Kit Kelsey the match, as Blaine Harrison was able to roll him up for a three count to capture the Peach State Championship.

But the lose pushed Kit Kelsey over the edge. For months, he has been laying out conspiracy theory after conspiracy theory for every shortcoming and slight he has felt has been laid against him, but at Reboot, enough was apparently enough, because after his loss, he took the mic and quit Peach State Wrestling.

Despite his public quitting, Peach State owner, Jody Wilson, has yet to make a statement about the incident, which makes me believe that he might be trying to work things out with the very vocal superstar, but in this business, one can never tell, and forever is just a stones throw away.

But that's last month, because tonight, we see our three latest hires get to make the ultimate statement, as they got to call out their opponents, so tonight, they get to set their own bar, and we starting it with a debut, as we get to meet Camellia Daphne Magna, and she called out Kevin Fox, but seeing as how Fox refuses to step into the ring, we'll get whatever member of his organization he decides to send out.

Let's go to the ring.

[the picture fades from Jaxson to the entrance at ringside. “Maybe” by Sick Puppies sounds through the speakers. Cami walks towards the ring with a huge smile on her face. She constantly looks around, smiling and interacting with the crowd. Halfway to the ring, she takes off running, sliding into the ring under the bottom rope. While on the mat, she pushes up into the bridge position. Holding it for a few seconds, she suddenly kicks up to a handstand before flipping upright.]

Jaxson: The crowd already likes Cami, and this is her debut here in Peach State.

[The masked superstar, Mighty Max, steps from the entrance. The crowd boos him, for his association with Kevin Fox, but he tries to not let it get to him. He jumps up and down in front of the entrance, before running to the ring. He slides under the bottom rope, running all the way to the otherside, and leaps up onto the second rope, and springboards backwards into a flip, landing on his feet. He holds his hands in the air, and then points at Cami, who nods, slightly impressed]

HIGHLIGHTS
-The two stars size each other up, which is interesting, seeing it shows that Camellia is used to being the shorter competitor, but in this match-up, she is actually a few inches taller than Max. Max reaches out to shake Cami's hand, who takes it and returns the shake.
-The two lock-up, with Cami getting the advantage with a headlock, but Max tries to turn it into a backdrop, lifting Cami up. Cami shifts her weight and flips over Max's head, landing on her feet. She runs to the ropes, and as she hits them, she does a double handspring, spinning in mid-air, and connecting with a huge elbow, only to land, and spin, taking Max down with a huge spin kick. It's a move that she calls Crown of Thorns.
-Cami drops down, hooking Max's leg, scoring the three count in decisive action. The crowd pops as the bell rings, as Cami celebrates in the ring.

Jaxson: That Crown of Thorns is an impressive move to watch live, and what's even more impressive is that it's not even her finishing move. I can't wait to see that in action, but after she laid out Max with the Crown of Thorns, there was little point in doing anything else.

The one thing that I've failed to mention is that we still do not know who Dixie Leigh plans on facing tonight. Seeing none of the newcomers picked her, she got to turn around and pick who she wanted to face. It was obviously not in the Cami vs. Max match, so that leaves two more matches she can pop up in, it's just a matter of when and where.

[The buildup for “Walk” by Foo Fighters begins to play and Johnny comes out from the back dressed in his customary white tank top and blue jean shorts. The fans begin to cheer and go ballistic as he stands at the top of the ramp with his "Everything is alright with the world because I'm in it" smile.]

A million miles away
Your signal in the distance
To whom it may concern
I think I lost my way
Getting good at starting over
Every time that I return

[Johnny slowly makes his way down to the ring giving the fans that are near the railing high fives.]

Learning to walk again
I believe I've waited long enough
Where do I begin?
Learning to talk again
Can't you see I've waited long enough
Where do I begin?

[Johnny gets down to the ring and he quickly slides under the ropes and turns back to the crowd which is still going ballistic.  Johnny goes to the turnbuckle and he jumps up to the middle turnbuckle and holds his arms out wide as if absorbing all the cheers and he receives an even bigger pop.]

Jaxson: Johnny Royal has become one of Peach State's biggest stars. He's a home grown talent that the fans have really gotten behind, and he has a great record to boot. He's one half of the Peach State Tag Team Champions, along with his Dirty South partner, Dixie Leigh. It would be real interesting to see her show up in this match.

["Dying Breed" by Five Finger Death Punch starts up as Travis Cage appears from behind the curtain. He stands and stares out at the crowd for a few moments before strolling down the aisle. He slides into the ring and goes to his corner. "Dying Breed" fading away. Both Royal and Cage look at each other, and then Referee Matt Reynolds turns and looks toward the entrance. The fans think that Dixie might just come out then, but there's nothing, and he motions for the bell to start the match.]

HIGHLIGHTS
-Royal goes to tie-up with Cage, but Cage has other ideas, as he clubs Royal with a forearm, knocking him back into the corner.
-Cage sends Royal to the other side of the ring. Royal slams into the corner hard, and Cage comes running in, but at the last second, Royal rolls out of the way. Cage slams into the corner hard, turning around.
-Royal toe kicks Cage, doubling him over, and then grabs his head, leaping up, into the corner, spinning both of them around, and coming down hard with his Royal Flush.
-Cage's head slams into the mat, and he flips over, landing on his back from impact.
-Royal covers and gets the pinfall in near record time.

Jaxson: As Royal celebrates that near flawless victory, I know for a fact that on the next show, we will see Dirty South defend their Peach State Tag Team Championships, but we won't know against who until later in the week. And that brings us to our main event, and I guess we all know who Dixie Leigh will decide to take on tonight.

[The lights dim,  fog billows out from either side of the entrance ramp, and a deeply digitally synthesized voice is heard echoing through the arena. ]

"ARE YOU PREPARED FOR THE ONLY TRUE ALL STAR IN THE PSW TODAY?"

[Suddenly Johnny Rampage emerges atop the entrance ramp.  He looks out across the sea of fans who boo and jeer at him.  He flashes his trademark smile and soaks up their hatred as if it fuels him.  He is dressed in a white over sized vinyl pants with suggestive pin up out lines on either side,  and a white matching sleeveless hoodie,  hood not worn,  that reads "All Star" across the back.  He makes his way down to the ring,  thanking the fans for their support and rilling them up even more as he goes. He slides into the ring,  slowly turning around to one more soak up the adoration of the fans.  While waiting for his opponent,  he strips off the over sized pants to reveal short white trucks,  with black accents,  white knee pads,  and white boots.]

Jaxson: Johnny Rampage is not short on confidence. When given this opportunity, he called out the Peach State Champion. He has a chance to make a huge name for himself in his first match here in Peach State, and if he is able to win, imagine what that means for the title picture.

["Black Sabotage" by DJ Moule starts playing throughout the arena, the guitar intro working the crowd up into a mini frenzy as Blaine Harrison steps out from behind the curtain wearing a black hoodie emblazoned with a steel coloured heart over his ring attire. Strobe lights shine down from the ceiling, illuminating the area around him with various hues and shades of purple, a modicum of smoke sifting around the floor just for effect. Blaine flips his hood back and looks out across the crowd, a smile spreading across his face. As the song 'drops' Harrison begins his movement down towards the ring, slapping hands with any and all willing fans along the way. Before he reaches the ring, Blaine removes his hoodie and hands it to one of the younger fans at ringside before sliding into the ring under the bottom rope.]

Jaxson: Blaine has the crowd eating out of his hand. He is the man of the people, whether he wants to be or not. It's also interesting to note that out of all of our Peach State superstars, he has the most Twitter followers. It has nothing to do with his wrestling ability, but seeing the WWE feels to talk about it so much, I thought I would do the same.

[The spoken words of her entrance song echo out across the auditorium]

"You Boys Never Met A Real Country Girl Before"
[the fans start to cheer knowing their favorite redneck Diva is on her way]

"I'm talking True Blue, Out in the Woods Down Home Country"
[the music starts up and Dixie comes out from backstage and poses with her arms above her head. She shoots a few peace signs kissed from her pursed lips. When the lyrics of the song begins she swaggers and waves down to the ring. Dixie, watching her opponent, makes her way around the ring and grabs the bottom rope pulling herself up closest to the referee to ensure no one gets a free shot without the referees watchful eye.]

Jaxson: Dixie is our longest reigning superstar, and I think, just in the past few months, she's starting to realize just how good she is. She has become 1/2 of the tag team champions with Johnny Royal, and she has no problem becoming a double champion. Although, please note that this is a non-title match, but if either Rampage or Dixie beat Blaine, I can see a championship match in their future.

HIGHLIGHTS
-Blaine smiles at Dixie, where as Rampage seems unimpressed with either one. Blaine looks at Rampage, just as Rampage motions for the belt to be around his waist.
-Blaine and Rampage lock-up, while Dixie hangs back. Blaine gets the advantage with a headlock, but as as he does, Rampage shoves him off of him, right into Dixie. Dixie is knocked back into the corner, as Blaine recovers. Rampage catches him with an enziguri.
-Rampage attacks Blaine, driving several kicks into Blaine, before turning, and driving a kick into Dixie's gut, doubling her over. He grabs her, and lifts her up with a snap suplex, going for a pin right away, but only getting a one count, as she kicks out.
-Rampage picks Blaine up, but as soon as he does, Blaine wraps his arms around him, and delivers a belly to belly suplex that sends Rampage to the other side of the ring.
-Blaine goes to lift Rampage up, but as soon as he comes close, Rampage grabs him by his waist, and slings him out of the ring through the ropes.
-Rampage gets to his feet, turning around, but walking right into an inside forearm from Dixie, taking him into the ropes. Dixie whips Rampage to the other side. Rampage rebounds, and Dixie takes him down with a dropkick as he comes back. Rampage goes down.
-It's Dixie's turn to go for a pinfall, but she barely gets a one count, as Rampage kicks out.
-Dixie gets up and runs to the ropes. She comes back, just as Rampage sits back up. She drives a side kick into his chest, as she runs past him. She continues into the ropes, leaping up, and going for a springboard splash, but as soon as she flips, Blaine comes out of nowhere and catches her in mid-air. He turns, and then drops her straight on top of Rampage. Dixie bounces off of him and rolls to the side.
-Blaine bends down, lifting Rampage up, and then bringing him straight down with an inverted Russian Leg Sweep.
-Blaine goes for a cover, but as soon as he does, Dixie yanks him off of him, breaking up the pin count. Blaine gets back to his feet, but as soon as he does, Dixie leaps up, catching him with a double knee chest buster. Dixie goes for a cover on Blaine, but Rampage drives a forearm across her back, breaking the count.
-Rampage yanks Dixie up by her hair, and then throws her face first into the corner. Dixie turns around, only to get nailed by a huge forearm to her head. Rampage sends her to the other side.
-Dixie slams into it, only to get crushed by a huge splash from Rampage. Dixie falls out of the corner, but as soon as Rampage turns around, Blaine comes out of nowhere, and leaps up, driving a knee into Rampage's head, knocking him back into the corner.
-Blaine hiptosses Rampage out of the corner. Rampage comes right back to his feet, but before he turns around, Blaine grabs him around the waist, lifting him up, slamming him down with a huge German Suplex.
-Rampage bounces, and rolls out of the ring, dropping to the outside.
-Blaine gets up, and turns around. He goes toward Dixie, bending down to pick her up, but as soon as he does, she grabs him and brings him down in a small package.
-Referee John Empires drops down and counts the three count, just as Blaine kicks out, but Empires motions for the bell.
-The crowd isn't sure yet. Dixie and Blaine stare at Empires, and then Empires raises Dixie's hand. Dixie can't believe it. Blaine leans back in the corner, not believing he just lost. Dixie jumps up, celebrating. Rampage stares at both of them on the outside of the ring, shaking his head.

CARRY ON MY WAYWARD SON!

[The crowd is shocked as Jody Wilson, owner of Peach State Wrestling steps from the entrance]

Jody: I'm not one for long announcements, so I'll make this brief. For our December show, nearly three months away, Blaine Harrison will defend his Peach State Championship against...Dixie Leigh!

[the crowd goes crazy as Dixie doesn't seem to believe it]

Jody: I'm not quite done yet, because on our next show...Dirty South...the Peach State Tag Champions...Johnny Royal and Dixie Leigh...will defend their tag team championships, but it won't be against a team picked by lethal lottery. It will be against a team...a team picked by Blaine Harrison!

[Blaine looks shocked at this, as Jody leaves on those words. Dixie and Blaine look at each other, as the show comes to an end]
