Top 10 Predictions on Jody's Big Announcement

At Peach State Wrestling's first show in 2012, Future Shock, Jody Wilson has announced that he will make a huge announcement, so now speculation has began as to what that announcement will be. Let's face it, in almost a years time, Jody has only made one or two appearances at the show, outside of meet and greets with the crowd. He has always been the type of owner to do things behind the scenes, never cared much for the limelight, so the fact that not only is he going to step out into the ring and make an announcement, but is actually announcing a month ahead of time that he's going to be making it, then this must be a huge announcement.

I hinted at Christmas Chaos that I might know what the announcement is, but I thought the big announcement was the four corners match at Future Shock, so I'm in as much the dark as you are. So I've been sitting around for the week, wracking my brain, trying to figure out what the big announcement could be, and from that, I have compiled a Top 10 list of possibilities. This list is not in any particular order.

1) We're Leaving Dixieland! - I love Dixieland. In the summer, they have putt-putt, bumper boats, laser tag, fireworks, and a whole bunch of other stuff. But the keyword there is in the summer time. Right now, outside of a special one night only New Year's Eve event, Dixieland is shut down until the Spring, so it's empty as far as walk-ins. We still have a good crowd, but it's dropped a little since we hit winter time. That could be explained because it's gotten colder outside, but it could also be explained by the fact that the crowds aren't seeing the advertising for us as they walk through Dixieland on a regular basis. Maybe Jody has found a new home for us somewhere else in Fayetteville, or possibly somewhere else in Georgia. The downside of this is the fact that Dixieland loves us. They give us free advertising, they keep our rent down to a minimum, so they really are a cheap place for us to work with. Plus, they are in a good location. Near several high population areas, so it draws a pretty diverse crowd to the shows, and a steady one at that, so there wouldn't be that guarantee going somewhere else.

2) We're Going to Travel! - Similar to the last one, but different at the same time. Instead of moving to one location, we start moving around to different locations every month around Georgia. Like I said previously, there are tons of places that we could call home, so why not call all of them home. We could go to Peachtree City, Griffin, Riverdale, Morrow, Stockbridge, McDonough, etc. The sky is the limit for us. The downside is that moving around costs money, and that's not really money we have. I've heard Jody talk about our budget, and while we're not going broke, we aren't getting rich in this process either. We're making enough to pay for the talent and the bills, but not much more than that, and moving around the shows would put a strain on the old budget.

3) We're Closing! - Hey, I don't want to even think about it, but I mentioned above how we aren't exactly swimming in the money. Jody maybe hiding the budget concerns even more than originally thought, and we're a lot worse off than he's mentioned, so he's forced to close us down. The downside of this is of course, we cease to exist, which would totally suck.

4) He's firing Nick King! - Think about it. Kid Kaboom is a product of Peach State Wrestling. He was one of the first students for Jody Wilson to train, he was the first Peach State Champion, and he's been a major part of the fed since opening night. However, look at him now. He has alienated every friend he's ever had. He's pissed off the fans, picked fights with everyone on the roster, threatened me, and brutally attacked people for no reason, other than he felt like it. Nobody on this roster has done even remotely the amount of crap he has done. Jody may have had enough of him, and he's going to call him out on all his crap, and then fire him. The downside is, that's too McMahonish, and trust me, Jody is no Vince McMahon. Plus, despite his rotten attitude, he's still a good wrestler. People won't admit it, but they want to see him in the ring. Peach State would be really weird without him.

5) We're Going to be on Television! - People have been demanding it since we debuted. Hell, Griffin just might think we are actually on television, seeing he keeps talking about pay per views, and cameras, and stuff like that, and it's something that I know Jody was interested in at one point, but hasn't talked much about it since a few deals fell through. The downside of being on television is it could seriously cut down on crowds. If people can just watch it on television, why pay money to come out to the shows. It also would expose our flaws. Our show is great live, but great live doesn't always translate to great TV, and we could wind up shooting ourselves in the foot, which is never good for business.

6) We're Getting a New Title! - We've got the Peach State Championship and the Peach State Tag Team Champions, so he might have a new title in the works, and we're going to crown the new champion on our one year anniversary. The downside is, do we really have a big enough roster to support a third title? Another title could be spreading the roster out too thin.

7) We're Getting New People! - We had nobody debut at Christmas Chaos, which is a first for Peach State Wrestling, however, the last crop of people, Blaine, Finn, and Krinkle are all working out great and have bright futures here in Peach State, so maybe it's time to bring in a new crop of people. The downside is...well, hell, there is no downside. New people are always a good thing. However, I don't see Jody making a special announcement about new people, unless it's John Morrison. He's not doing anything at the moment, but I just don't see it.

8) We're Getting Old People! - We're one month away from our first anniversary, so what if we're going to be seeing a whole lot of people again that we haven't seen in awhile. People like Trenton Williams, Dixie Leigh, John Empires, Jay Jousma, etc. for return engagements or even just one time appearances for our anniversary. I would love to see a King vs. Leigh match now, with King's new attitude, with their friendly first match being so good, think about how a second match would be between them now. Or Jace vs. Trenton...ego vs. ego at it's best. The downside of this is the obvious. We haven't had much luck with returns. Do we need a reminder of how Kimba Seanoa's return went? Kaboom beat him in something like 10 seconds? Then again, this is an anniversary show, so maybe it will be different.

9) Jody's Coming out of Retirement! - He might be old, but hell, if Ric Flair can still wrestle, why not Jody? He could come out of retirement and slap the taste out of Nick King's mouth once and for all. The downside is Jody might die. I love the old man, and he was one of the greats back in the day, but we are not back in the day. He's pushing 70 and as much as I would love to see it, I just don't see it happening.

10) I'm Taking Over! - That's right. Jody is ready to retire, and he's giving Peach State to me to run as I see fit. We're going to go old school. And I'm not talking WWF old school with over the top gimmicks. I'm talking old school ECW. Blood gushing out of foreheads. Tables, ladders, chairs, chains, kendo sticks. You name it, it'll be available for people to use. We'll bring hardcore back to the forefront of the wrestling world The downside...you'd probably lose my wonderful commentary during shows. I'd be too busy running the place to do it, so you'd miss my wonderful wit during the shows.

So there's my ten. You got a better suggestion, I'd love to hear it. Hit me up over on Twitter with your ideas. Until next time, see you later.
