I still can't believe what happened tonight. It went well beyond just a fun little Laser Tag match-up. It was something nobody saw coming, and I've got the swollen lip to prove it. I had to rush home to share everything with ya'll tonight, rather than waiting until tomorrow like I usually do.
The night started off innocently enough. The two teams, The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly versus The Outlaws, each suited up in their neon vests. The GBU, coincidentally my team, wore the blue vests, while The Outlaws, appropriately got the red vests.
The rules for the competition were simple. If you got hit, your vest vibrates, and you lost a life. You had a total of three lives, and then you're out of the game. Your goal was to eliminate everyone else on the other team, before they eliminated you.
And remember, the grand prize was for all the survivors of the winning team gets free passes to Dixieland for life.
The buzzer started the countdown, and as soon as it got down to 0, the game was on.
And then that son of a bitch, Jace Parker Davidson shot me in the back!
He's on my own team! He acted like it was an accident, but I saw that smile on his face. He meant to do it. So just like that, I was already down a life.
I should also point out that Matt Reynolds decided to sit this one out, and let Scott King participate, to keep the teams even. He was my team, and being ex-military, he set-up a sniping position on the second level pretty quickly. I know this is a Wild West motif, but having a sniper on our team was great. In less than a minute, he was able to pick off Taylor Michaels and his fellow Young Lions member, Chris Jacobs, taking them both down to two lives.
But The Outlaws got their share of hits as well. Brute, another member of the Young Lions, and the new largest man in Peach State, got picked off twice in a row. His size didn't lend him to hiding very well, and after he got hit by Dixie Leigh, he ducked around the corner trying to hide, but it didn't work, and he got hit again by Natalie Wilson.
Despite Jace being an asshole, Tara and him worked great together. I guess that's a duh, but they both worked with precision teamwork. One would cover, while the other would go around corners. It was like something out of SWAT or something like that, except Tara is a might hotter than Michelle Rodriguez. The combo of those two working together were able to tag both Natalie Wilson and Chase Reynolds, but while they were busy with those two, August Joyce ambushed them, tagging Jace, but just missing Tara, who was able to return fire, tagging August in the process, before all three of them went into hiding.
Kidd Kaboom was smart. He held back at the GBU's base, which had excellent cover, and not to mention the fact that Scott King was on point sniping almost anyone that popped their head up, including both Tristain and Tiffani Micheals. However, neither of them saw Chase Reynolds wall hug up the side of entrance platform and popped King not once, but twice, before King literally rolled down the otherside, avoiding being eliminated, firing off a shot as he did so, tagging Chase for his second life.
Kaboom saw what was going down up top, and decided it was time to move, venturing out carefully. He suddenly got hit, and looked up seeing Dixie Leigh's smiling face pointing her gun right at him, but she forgot one thing.
ME!
I tagged her not once, but twice as she tried to escape me. That will teach her not to fix me any pie!
Unfortunately, while I was gloating, Natalie snuck up behind me and tagged me. See if I ever ask her out again. I took off running, while Tyson Sexton and Arielle from my team suddenly found themselves working together, and they were able to double team Chris Jacobs, giving him his second hit, before turning around and each getting hit by August Joyce.
We were just five minutes in,and the only person who was left untouched was Tara. How she managed that, I have no clue, but it didn't last long, as she came around a corner, and was hit by her own family member, Taylor. However, Jace, who wasn't far from his wife, came around and tagged Taylor. Taylor tried to answer back, but Tara raised her gun and blasted her. Taylor Michaels was the very first person eliminated from the competition, and it was obvious she wasn't happy about it, even if it was Jace and Tara who did the eliminating.
August came around the corner, seeing Arielle in his sites, but with his site set on her, Kidd Kaboom leapt around the corner, opening fire, hitting August square in the back. August ducked and ran away, ignoring his original target. But that was ok, because Chris Jacobs had her in his sights and popped off a shot that put her at minus 2.
To recap for you, The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly were as follows:
Kidd Kaboom had 1 hit, Jace had 1 hit, Tara had 1 hit. Scott King - 2 hits, Brute - 2 hits, Arielle - 2 hits, Tyson only 1 hit, and I had 2 hits. (Did I mention Jace was an asshole?)
The Outlaws were as follows: August with 2 hits, Dixie with 2 hits, Taylor was eliminated, while Tristain and Tiffany had only 1 hit each, Chris Jacobs had 2 hits, Chase had 2 hits, and Natalie had 1 hit.
So things were pretty even, but things would pick up very rapidly.
In rapid succession, Brute Svenson got off a shot on Tiffani Micheals, giving her second hit, but as soon as he got off that shot, Dixie Leigh hit him for her second time, eliminating the big guy from the competition. However, Dixie left herself open after that shot, and Tara lined up her shot, but before she could pull the trigger, August yanked Dixie backwards, pulling her out of harms way, before he rounded the corner, guns blazing and hitting Tara for her second hit.
In all this melee, Kidd Kaboom went kamikaze through the maze, hitting Natalie for her second hit and eliminating Chase, before literally sliding to a stop in the corner, holding his gun up waiting for anything. Unfortunately what he wasn't waiting for was Tristain coming around the corner shotting, hitting him square in the chest. Kaboom took off running, covering his sensor as best he could, shooting backwards, and some how tagging Tristain with his shots.
Scott King found himself another sniper position, and lined up a shot, seeing Chris Jacobs in his cross hairs, but before he can shoot, August comes around the corner, firing of another series of shots at him. This time, King somehow avoided all of them, coming up firing, and hitting August square in the chest, eliminating him from the competition. August looked really disappointed at losing out on those Dixieland tickets.
Tyson got his second hit at the hands of Tiffani, but Tyson got his revenge, hitting her right back, eliminating her.
The GBU still had 7 of their 8 people, while The Outlaws only had 4.
We were just picking them off, one at a time. That was until we had Chris and his Angels, Dixie, Tristian, and Natalie, move in on the attack in some kind of rotating firing line. They eliminated Arielle with a shot, and gave both Jace and Tyson their second hit.
Scott tried to get a shot off, but his own partner, Chris, tagged him, eliminating him with a quick shot. But it was Kidd Kaboom and Tyson Sexton that broke up the foursome, firing a barrage of shots, hitting Tristain, eliminating her, and causing them to scatter, but not before they took out Tyson as well.
I followed them, yelling like a mad man, chasing Natalie around the corner, only to see that Chris and Dixie have converged around that particular corner. I scream, stopping in my tracks, and go running back as fast as I could, but it wasn't fast enough, as Dixie hit me in the back with a shot.
Figures, no pie, and she shoots people in the back.
Just like that, the teams were even, three on three, as it came down to Kaboom, Jace, and Tara against Chris, Dixie, and Natalie.
But that was when all hell broke lose.
Jace rounded the corner, and suddenly someone just punched him hard across the face. His gun went flying, only to be sprung back by the chord it was attached to. Jace struggles to stay to his feet, not expecting it at all. In the dark, it was hard to tell who it was, but Jace threw a punch, but it was blocked by another person, who grabbed Jace, and threw him toward the exit. Jace slammed through it, crashing to the outside, where a crowd had gathered watching the video feed. Jace got back to his feet, staring at two faces he wasn't expecting.
Rhys Townsend and Evan Ward...the HOW World Tag Team Champions, and the team Ascended Supremacy would be taking on at HOW's show Frontline, for those very same titles.
This effectively stopped the game, as everyone ran out, following the melee, as Tara immediately sprung into action, nailing Evan from behind with a forearm. Jace and Rhys begin to trade blows back and forth, while Evan turns around and begins to trade blows with Tara.
The rest of the Peach State superstars stand by, not sure what the hell to do. I do the only thing I can think of, which is to run in and try to break it up, of which I got an elbow to the face for my trouble. I honestly don't know if it was Tara or Evan who clocked me, but I got the message and just let them go at it.
However, the entire Michaels clan didn't bat an eye. They went straight in, attacking Rhys and Evan, overwhelming them. However, they weren't in the fight long, as August, Dixie, and Kidd Kaboom all grabbed ahold of them, pulling them off. They don't like the fact that HOW is here invading this event, but Jace and Tara started it by invading HOW first on Turmoil.
It was truly a fair fight, as Jace hammers Rhys, throwing him into a table, flipping it over, sending somebody's drink into the air. Rhys lands on his back, but quickly gets back to his feet, as Jace rushed him, but Rhys catches him, and delivers a spinebuster straight to the floor.
Just a few feet away, Tara grabs ahold of Evan, turning him, and throwing him into the House of the Dead arcade machine, almost knocking it over. Evan drops to one knee, before turning around, and driving a fist straight into Tara's gut. Tara doubles over, and as soon as she does, Evan comes up, grabbing Tara's head, and driving a knee straight into it. Tara drops backwards.
Rhys yells at Evan, and Evan moves over to Jace. It is obvious these two HOW stars wanted to concentrate on Jace, but before they can double team him, the Young Lions spring into action, hammering both of them. Rhys and Evan quickly back away, as the Young Lions put themselves between Jace and Tara. Rhys and Evan smile, holding their hands in the air, letting them know they proved their point.
I think I even heard Rhys ask if they were under Jace and Tara's skin yet. Not sure what that was all about, but Rhys and Evan exited the building, leaving everyone just standing there wondering what the hell is going to happen next.
