Statement from Jody Wilson (Matt Reynolds, Kit Kelsey, Championship)

It has been several weeks since Matt Reynolds attacked Kit Kelsey. The attack may have lead to Kit Kelsey losing the Peach State Championship. I say may have, because we do not know how the match would have ended without the attack. However, the attack marred the ending of what should have been a great match.

In a perfect world, a rematch would be ordered at the earliest possible convenience, however, we do not live in a perfect world. Nick King quitting has put an even bigger impact on Kelsey losing the title, as it means that Peach State Championship is now vacant. I still have no come to a decision on how to handle that situation yet, and with our crossover event with FGA, it is not something that can be dealt with at Collision. However, at Collision, I will announce my course of action on the matter.

Now, regarding Matt Reynolds, despite what Kit Kelsey has said publicly, I did not know of Matt Reynolds's actions prior to the match. I, like most people, honestly thought that Nick King was the man behind Reynolds's attack, and Matt did not tell me any different. He promised that he could be fair and impartial during the match, and he promised not to lay a finger on King. I now see that he did fulfill this end of his promise, however, misguided, as his attack was not on King, but on Kelsey.

I've always been one to not get into the wrestlers' ways, and let everyone take care of their own business. When Nick King attacked Tara Davidson, he was suspended, not for his vicious attack on her, but for laying his hands on the referee, in an unprovoked attack. However, in this case, it is a referee, laying his hands on a wrestler.

In a perfect world, a match could be set-up between the two in order for them to handle their business in the ring, but, once again, we do not live in a perfect world. Kit Kelsey's attack has virtually ended Matt Reynolds's wrestling career. While there is still a chance of him returning to the ring in some capacity down the road, it is only a small chance, so these two will never be able to settle their differences in the ring.

Kit Kelsey, a non-wrestler at the time, attacked Matt, viciously and maliciously. Ending his career, for the benefit of his own gains. While I have a problem with the move from a moral standpoint, this is wrestling, and it comes with the territory. However, he then hid his attack from the fans and from his fellow wrestlers for months, and it was only from Matt's attack that the information came to light. This was a coward's approach to dealing with the situation.

So Matt Reynolds's attack was not unprovoked. It was a case of reaping what you sow. So, therefore, Matt Reynolds's will not be punished for his attack on Kit Kelsey. He will continue as co-trainer at my wrestling school and he will continue to referee matches as well. However, in the matter of fairness, he will not referee any matches that feature Kit Kelsey.

In other words, they are to stay away from each other, because as far as I'm concerned, the two are now even. Kelsey cost Reynolds's a chance at the title, and Reynolds's cost Kelsey a chance to keep the title.

I know some people will not be happy with this decision, however, it is my decision. I consider the matter closed.
